Gerber 06 F.A.S.T.
, a quick
assisted opening knife
with G-10 handles for extra grip when wet. The Tanto shaped blade is designed for thrusting.
Gerber introduced forward action spring technology or
F.A.S.T.
in 2005. Using one hand, the blade is opened approximately ten degrees, allowing the spring to drive the blade lightening quick the rest of the way into the open position. This exclusive mechanism was developed by acclaimed Oregon custom knife maker Butch Vallotton.

almost the best knife
After buying this knife i thought it was going to be a great everyday carry and hunting knife. Fast opening keeps it edge decent. But the blade is so loose now it just gets moved and its opening how do i fix this or can i send it in for work. I have only had this knife a few months. I love gerber but i also but another knife from another company that im much happier with. Fix this gerber

Love the knife, however...
The knife is great, but found one flaw. The design and size of the blade is better than expected. The handle allows for a good grip in all weater conditions. However, the achiles heel of the knife is the safety/locking button. The knife now opens even if the lock is on. The button slides as the knife opens. Even with this issue, the knife appears to work fine so far.

There were a few things that disappointed me with this knife. I have only had it for a month and the blade continues to become loose after a few times opening it. I noticed that when I was cutting into some things like paper that I had to be careful what was underneath the paper because the tip of the knife is always getting bent. I have had to sharpen my knife once already. I have considered sending it back and getting a refund I don't know if I would accept a replacement

10 degrees?
i just got mine the other week and a little stiff out of the box but thats normal. and the f.a.s.t. doesnt kick in until about 30-45 degrees... but still a kick ass knife. really sharp blade and heavy duty feel and build... the blade release is on both sides of the blade so you dont have to worry about the release jamming... i love the knife

By far the best knife I have used in the line on duty and off duty. The G10 grips ensure no slipping in bad weather or high humidity. Great price for the quality of knife. I have had more expensive knives and none were this good.
