The Gerber Gator Machete Cuts The Competition

Today, consumers are looking for more value in their purchases. We want quality products at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, too often we end up spending too much for a product that suits our needs as badly as clothes we've outgrown. Whether you're doing yard work or hiking in the Outback, you may need a tool to clear unwanted brush. While the Gerber machete is one of the best machetes available on the market, how does it stack up?

For over seven decades, Gerber has remained a leader in quality knives, including the Gerber Gator Machete and its gator grip. Throughout its history, Gerber has continually been on the cutting edge of knife technology, creating innovative tools with state-of-the-art blades and handles. The Gerber machete continues the company's quest for excellence.

It's important to note that Gerber isn't new to the world of knives. The company was founded in 1939, by a blacksmith named David Murphy and an advertising agent named Joseph Gerber. For over 70 years, Gerber has remained an innovator in knives, creating state-of-the-art blades and handles. In fact, during the Vietnam Conflict, Gerber sold knives directly to American soldiers.

Besides being compact, the Gerber Gator Machete includes a host of other features. One of the most convenient perks of this tool is the sheath that's included with the knife-machete. A sheath is something that you'd need anyways, so it's an added bonus when you don't have to buy it separately. This certainly adds to the tool's value.

Finally, the blade is the essence of any machete, including a Gerber machete. While the blade of the Gerber Gator machete is shorter than typical machetes, it's still effective when you need a tool for clearing brush. The blade's oxide coating protects the entire blade from the damage of rust and corrosion. You can even use the back of the blade as a saw, for cutting down small trees. And top it all off, the far end of the Gerber Gator's blade includes an eye in it. This allows you to hang up the machete, on a nail or other protrusion.

How about the blade of the Gerber Gator Machete? The blade is definitely lengthy enough to get the job done. The blade's steel is coated with a black oxide, to help prevent corrosion and rust. This is definitely a plus when battling the elements of the Great Outdoors! One of the blade's best features is an integrated saw, located on the backside of the blade. This comes in handy for tasks such as cutting down small trees. Finally, an eye towards the far end of the blade allows you to easily hang the machete from a nail.

Besides looking good, the entire Gerber Gator machete (including gator grip) is durable. This is a key characteristic in today's world of sloppy mass-produced products. Don't be fooled by the sleek appearance of this tool. OK, it's not made of the strongest materials on planet Earth. But considering that the machete and its shipping costs are only about $20, you definitely are getting a solid tool with this product.

If you need a machete that does more than clear brush, then consider the Gerber Gator Machete. It's a solid tool in form and function, from the tip of its blade to the end of its handle!

Your Dependable And Practical Gerber Knives

In 1939 Mr. Pete Gerber founded Gerber Legendary Blades. He joined Mr. David Murphy, a blacksmith from Portland, in this partnership. Pete Gerber was in promotion and David Murphy created knives to use in your kitchen. He was a blacksmith. This was the beginning of the successes of Gerber knives. Their reputation is long standing for designs that are very innovative. The Hall of Fame of the cutlery industry honored Pete Gerber in 1985 by inducting him in the Hall.

They manufacture many kinds of knives including knives for fishing and hunting. There are also pocketknives and tactical knives. Their inventory is very wide and there is something for everyone. These knives are well made and rugged. Any customer will be satisfied to own one.

In 1966, there was a need for combat knives. Gerber was in the forefront designing knives appropriate for combat. The Mark II Combat Survival Knife went into production and by 1999 thousands of knives had been manufactured and sold after field tests and evaluations had been done at Fort Lewis. The Mark II, as its name, is a survival knife in combat.

Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife is one model that is very popular. This is an Aircrew Survival Egress Knife used by aircrews. This is the knife of choice to escape from an aircraft. It can hammer and break the cockpit acrylic glass, cut through the skin of the aircraft and the webbing of the seatbelt, and it can be used as a screwdriver to name a few features for which it is popular. This knife is also available to other branches of the military. There is a knife similar to this, the LMF II, which is sold commercially.

Some knives have fixed blades which means that they do not fold. These are usually the knife of choice for hunters and campers. To manufacture these blades a high-carbon stainless steel is used. There are different handles available such as the softgrip handle, the wooden handle, or the stag handle. Some have either an edge that is serrated or fine.

They also make fine automatic knives. These are generally known as switchblades. These have blades that fold into the handle and then when a lever or button is pushed the blade is released by a spring action. These are usually used by the military, emergency units, or they are an item for the collector. It is not legal for the general public to own these knives.

The quality of these will not disappoint you. Whether you are in the military, a hunter, or a sportsman, you will always be please that you have bought one. You can count on the dependability of this practical product.

Gerber Knives - Bringing You The Greatest

For many people the search for a new hunting knife leads them straight to Gerber knives. Sportsmen all around the world have used the brand for many many years and given positive reviews.

Gerber has been manufacturing knives for consumers for about 60 years now and with that time has come a lot of learning and gained experience as to what their customers demand. They are considered a leader in their industry and provide a wide variety of other hunting supplies outside of just knives.

Some of their more popular models include both the Freeman and the Firestorm. The Freeman model is one of the most commonly used knives the company makes. It comes with a well designed wooden handle and a non-slip grip.

Hunters really like to reduced slipping when they are using the knife in the field to skin their kill, it makes the process go a lot smoother. This model, however, was designed for smaller game killing and it reflects that in it's low pricing. It does work great as a starter knife though.

The Firestorm is a little over three inches long and works best for large game. There larger size also comes with a much larger price tag when compared to the Freeman so only the most serious big game hunter usually buys these. This doesn't mean you need to be a big game hunter only of course. Some people just like collecting Gerber knives and may not even hunt at all. Their high quality is enough to appreciate in itself.

Gerber has a lot more models than just those mentioned here but the ones above are some of their most popular. To find a knife that will work for your needs you must first figure out what you will be using it for mostly. After you know this you can then quickly figure out the appropriate size you will need.

The many choices they have, for whatever reason you want one, all come at affordable prices so that all hunters can enjoy one or several of these great pieces and have everything they need. Beginners to the hobby of hunting can start at the lower end and upgrade as they get more active in the sport of hunting. Those that are highly experiences will enjoy being able to have a large assortment of knives to choose from and will be able to find something for just about anything they can think of.

An Invaluable Gerber Gator Machete Review

Today, consumers are looking for more value in their purchases. We want quality products at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, too often we end up spending too much for a product that suits our needs as badly as clothes we've outgrown. Whether you're doing yard work or hiking in the Outback, you may need a tool to clear unwanted brush. While the Gerber machete is one of the best machetes available on the market, how does it stack up?

In terms of price, the Gerber Gator Machete with its gator grip seems to be either a fantastic deal, or a rip-off. For less than $30 you can buy the machete and have it shipped to your doorstep. Various home improvement stores carry similar tools for roughly the same price-but with fewer features. So is the machete from Gerber under-priced or overpriced?

It's important to note that Gerber isn't new to the world of knives. The company was founded in 1939, by a blacksmith named David Murphy and an advertising agent named Joseph Gerber. For over 70 years, Gerber has remained an innovator in knives, creating state-of-the-art blades and handles. In fact, during the Vietnam Conflict, Gerber sold knives directly to American soldiers.

One of the biggest perks of the Gerber machete is the sheath that it's bundled with. A sheath is something that you need for any machete, adding safety and convenience to the lengthy knife. Many machetes are sold without a sheath, so this definitely adds extra value to the machete from Gerber.

Another of the biggest features of this tool is the gator grip handle. The polymid fiberglass handle is extremely durable, and lengthy enough to grip with two hands. Two bolts attach the handle to the tool, so you can be assured that it will stay affixed to the oversized knife.

The bottom line is that the Gerber Machete tool is a fantastic deal. Mini machetes sold in home improvement stores tend to have approximately the same price tag, but often lack features such as the oxide coating and complimentary sheath. Meanwhile, the Gerber version with its Gator Grip can cost less than $30-including the shipping cost!

If you need a machete that does more than clear brush, then consider the Gerber Gator Machete. It's a solid tool in form and function, from the tip of its blade to the end of its handle!

Gerber Gator Knives - A Solid Review

Knives are very important in our lives, which is why you should definitely consider trying the Gerber Gator Serrated Edge. This is a knife that can be used for many different applications. Some of those applications can be different outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. As you probably know by this point, a knife is necessary for any activities that take place outdoors. This is true even if you believe you won't need one, so let's take a look at this great knife from Gerber Gator.

First of all, the Gerber Gator Serrator features a top quality blade made from 400 series stainless steel which is tapered, and the blade is also serrated on the one side. Because of the stainless steel blade, the knife is not likely to rust, and of course this is a huge plus when it comes to having a good knife for outdoor activities.

When the knife is in the closed position it has a length of approximately five inches, and when open it measures approximately eight inches. Because the knife has been designed for use in the great outdoors, you'll immediately notice just how light it is, but this is largely due to the handle rather than the blade.

Admittedly, the blade isn't suitable for cutting through wood, but you can be guaranteed that it can cut through practically any type of rope or fabric. You'll even be able to use it in order to prepare yourself a meal in the event that you find yourself stranded far from civilization. The reason why this knife is so ideal for outdoor activities is because it's extremely robust. For example, the entire assembly is held in place by means of hardworking steel rivets, meaning that the knife is not likely to fall apart in your hands.

The handle is made from fiberglass and has been designed to give the user outstanding grip, and this is something you'll notice even if your hands are wet. In order to enhance the grip even further, the handle features special finger grips that make it almost impossible for the knife to slip in your hands when you're using it.

It simply cannot be denied that when you pick up this knife you can immediately sense that you're holding something of great quality, and when you first use it, you can feel that it's the type of knife that has been designed to get the job done. The market is awash with imitations and fakes, and while some of them may look good, none of them could ever compare in terms of strength, durability, quality, and most importantly of all, reliability. If you well and truly want a knife that can last a lifetime, then the Gerber Gator Serrated Edge knife is definitely one you should consider.

The Types and Uses of Various Hunting and Survival Knives

There are a great number of hunting and survival knives on the market, and each of them has its own use. Whether you are just a knife enthusiast and collector, or you are a frequent hunter or camper, you need to know exactly what each knife is for.

Knives are invaluable, and no outdoor enthusiast should ever be without one. There are special knives geared towards hunters and survivalists, and knowing the types of available knives and their uses will ensure you are always prepared. For detailed information on many types of knives, visit [Gerber Knives].

One of the first things to think about when shopping for a knife is quality. While it may be tempting to buy a cheap knife from a bargain store, it is really not wise. A cheap knife will not be pleasant to use, and the worst case scenario is that it breaks when you need it most. Paying extra money for a really good blade that will last for a long time will pay off in the long run, and you will have peace of mind knowing your blade won?t fail you in a critical moment.

When you are considering hunting knives, there are a few styles that stand out in popularity. Drop point blades are some of the most popular because they are so versatile. These have a blade with a sharp curve to them. They are made to stand up to abuse and complete almost any task you need.

Clip point blades are made of thinner steel, and have a sharp point on them. These are not as popular as drop point blades, but they still have their avid fans. A skinning blade is another blade that is specialized for its use. If you have trouble skinning your kills with another knife, consider getting one of these in addition to your all-purpose knife.

Some special additions some survival blades have are serrated edges and gut hooks. Serrated edges are usually recommended for individuals going into the outdoors. These edges are best for cutting through tough materials such as wood and bone, which is often necessary. Gut hooks are found on the end of a blade, opposite the cutting edge. These are made for assisting in gutting kills quickly and efficiently.

Any knife you will be taking to the outdoors should be able to stand up to hacking, slicing and stabbing. Since you want to be prepared for anything, this criterion is a good start to choosing your blade.

Keep in mind that many of these knives come with both fixed blade and folding blade options. Fixed blades take up more space, and generally require a special sheath, but are sturdier. Folding blades are more compact, and can make for easier traveling, but may not stand up to as much abuse as a fixed blade. Consider how much you are going to be using your knife and for what when deciding what blade type to get.

Buying a hunting/survival knife is a rewarding process if you know what kind of knife you need. You certainly don?t want to purchase the wrong knife, and you definitely don?t want to realize it once you?re on your trip. Take a good look around at your options, and you?re sure to find a blade that is exactly what you need.

Owning Gerber Knives Has Many Advantages

Gerber knives are probably the best knives in today's modern era. Setting the bar for innovative as well as cutting edge technology when it comes to their products, Gerber Legendary Blades has made it clear that camping and hunting are just not the same without one of their knives in hand. You'd be surprised to know that their largest customer happens to be the United States Government. From the Marines and Army to the National Guard, these knives are the standard issues. Even the Air Force and Navy thinks that they are highly useful. If you're still not convinced, then read on further details.

Around the year 1910, Joseph Gerber mailed his clients sets of handmade kitchen knives for the holidays. These first Gerber knives were a big hit with the lucky few who got a set. One client, Abercrombie & Fitch, could see the selling potential of the knife sets and wanted to display them in there 1939 catalog. They placed an order for more kitchen knife sets, and Gerber Legendary Blades was born. The company is currently under a wing of Fiskars, which is the 2nd largest producer of multi-tools in the US.

The benefits are numerous when you own a Gerber knife. While they are still constructed with that sense of reliable old-school technology that gives them such effectiveness, Gerber has integrated many technological advances into them. Here are some of the main reasons that make owning a Gerber knife so beneficial, especially when you take it hunting.

Proven Durability - You can trust this knife to do its job well because of its long lasting endurance and resistance to weather. Most knock-offs tend to break down easily so buying a knife that you can trust in critical moments will serve you well.

The price is a bargain when compared to the hyped up, over-priced knives on the market. Think about it. You can pay less money and get superior quality from a Gerber. Why would you buy an inferior knife for more money? I wouldn't either.

The flexibility and multifaceted capabilities of Gerber Legendary Blades knife designs gives them an edge against their competition. They come with serrated edges to help you clear small branches or saw through bones when cleaning an animal. The various designs come with differing capabilities and prices, but all of their prices are reasonable.

Ease and Size - A Gerber knife is known for its small features and ease of use. A knife made like this is used by most FBI or normal local police forces because they can be handy in public places such as sawing through thick ropes or such. Also, they can be concealed easily.

Many outdoor enthusiast and emergency personnel are proud to carry Gerber knives. With over 70 years of production, quality and value are still essential elements at Gerber Legendary Blades. Benefits of carrying one can range from saving your life to just being there when you need to cut something. See for yourself why these knives are so popular by getting one for your pocket before your next outdoor adventure.

SFC

Having served in the Middle East for 6 out of the last 8 years, and another 16 months left in the current tour, my Gerber Silver Trident, double edged with one side serrated has been the best knife I have used since I became a Ranger in the US Army. When my Hum-Vee was hit by an RPG and a large chunck of shrapnel hit my leg. It hit my Gerber prior to that. deflecting the shrapnel. The blade of my knife broke, but was removed easily and the damage was only eighty six stitches, and two weeks in bed.The Lt. Colonel who fixed the wound said that had my knife not deflected the large piece of shrapnel, I would certainly have lost my leg. I want ALL of the People at your company to know that I am greatful for the wonderful product I was able to purchase. I give you my word that that I will purchase another knife when funds are available. As of now all of my pay is deposited to my wife and children, so it may be some time, but I assure you that I wouldn't carry a Kabar or other make as nothing has served me better. SFC Dean Parent

LMF ASEK System Price Difference

The LMF ASEK is more expensive than the Basic LMF Infantry or Survival Knife because it was built specifically for the military using military specifications. Basically, a more robust platform with heavier duty materials such as handle and knife blade steel material. This item has been discontinued recently but we still have a few left in stock. Thanks for your interest in Gerber Knives, we appreciate your business
