great knife!
  Good sized blade and razor sharp. Awkward pocket clip would be nice if it were a user option to install as it gets in the way when opening left-handed. Blade lock has a mind of its own and likes to hang up but if you're careful no prob. But this blades is pegged for self-defense so kind of defeats the purose. I like it anyway!

fast assist
  the slide button for the fast assist drags badly and i'm just not impressed with it's operation. i have 4 other gerber knives and i love them, but i will not buy another fast assist because it is not.

Handyman
  I have been a Gerber fan for many years and own many of their products. I recently tried their fast draw plain edge 22-07162. I love the fact that it is truly a one hand knife. The fast open function works very well and is really convenient. My only critique seems to be that the lock /release button seems to stick occasionally and won,t open on first try. In all fairness, it may be that the knife is new and must be broken in a bit. other that that I am really pleased.

Just plain Rob
  I own this knife for some time now and wanted to say it is the best overall knife I have owned not only for the functionality of it but the blade sharpens to razor sharp and holds. Overall it's a great knife for any duty in my opinion.
