Gerber transformed the original knife with upgraded CPM-S30V stainless steel blade as a tribute to the success of this classic fighting knife modeled after the Mark II. This knife is from a limited run of 1,500 pieces produced.

  I was gifted the Mark I commando knife by a Marine going back to the world. I carried it for a bit over 13 months, I suspect that there is no better combat knife made!! I, in turn gifted it to a Marine en route for Afghanistan, may it serve him as well as it served me.

  I purchased this blade model back in the late 80's when it was relatively new to the market at the base exchange at Camp Lejune while enlisted in the Marine Corps. I used it in place of my Kbar issue knife as an infantryman. Although my blade shows considerable wear from all the field excercises I undertook back then, the blade itself in still is excellent condition through today. Excellent chioce of combat knife and would recommend it to any combat oriented and hunter type person.
